Our selection committee includes the following four highly accomplished life science executives. They work together, drawing on their diverse expertise and experiences, to select the award winners.


As the Scientific Director of the Digital Innovation Hub at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Dr. Gillian Strudwick led the adoption of a groundbreaking technology to combat the traditionally low uptake of preventative mental health services. Be Well offers routine mental health screening, personalized advice, and connections to mental health services through an accessible, text-based service. It has been adopted in Saskatchewan, as well as by several universities and employers.
Gillian holds a PhD and is the youngest nurse to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing for her leadership in informatics and mental health. She has held numerous leadership and consulting positions, contributed to over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and garnered more than $16.5 million in research funding. Gillian shares her passion for digital health as an Associate Professor at University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.
